A life less worthy?
On Friday the 25th of June, a young lad was reported as being beaten up very badly on the streets of Huyton. Initial reports stated that the murderous assault might have been due to him being gay which is a factor that the police should be able determine fairly quickly.
As of yet the case has been ignored by the national media as seen by the story itself making page 26 of the Daily Mirror today. Compared to the murder of Anthony Walker, the story of the murder seems to be deemed non news-worthy, for some reason. We have seen no media camped out, grabbing any passing local for an opinion. No notable personalities, as of yet, seem to have spoken out.
Two men, James O’Connor and Gavin Alker both 19, had already been charged with grievous bodily harm, and another man, Christopher Douglas, 19 was charged with witness intimidation – something which is rife in Liverpool.
These charges were made before the death of Michael Causer.
The post-mortem examination results will now determine whether the injuries sustained led to Michael’s death. Charges should then be accordingly adjusted to take into account that the grievous assault turned out to be fatal.

Michael was attacked on Tarbock Road in Huyton on the 25 July at 11.00am and it was reported that paramedics found him lying still in a pool of blood. The lads behind the attack kicked him or perhaps even stamped on his head – a tactic often used given the low sentences which can be handed out for such a wicked form of murder.
We saw this with the horrific death of Johnny Delaney, a young 15-yr-old traveler schoolboy whose head was stamped on by his murderers. If the law was going to make an example to us all that murdering people who are different is NO GO – the opportunity was there before us in that court. In front of witnesses who bravely testified in court, the murderers cried out “he’s only a fu**** gippo”. The judge basically agreed and duly handed out a sentence of only four and a half years.
That is an insult and demeans the value of life and just as importantly people’s perception of the value of life.
Michael Causer suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Whiston Hospital before being transferred to the Walton hospital’s neurology centre where the surgeons battled to save his life. Sadly, the efforts of some of the finest surgeons in the land could not repair the damage done.
Michael passed away on Saturday the 2nd of August. The struggle to overcome those injuries was not to be. His poor family, need we even say, will be heartbroken that such a gentle and kind man gets murdered by the local scum in our midst.
Not for the first time either.
Michael presented no threat to anyone, but sadly, some of the local scum will delight in such easy opportunities to bully people. This is a pattern of behaviour which has flourished under the new labour government whose own collective criminal intent and malice makes Michael’s killers seem like boy scouts.
The death of Michael means that the crime is now murder. Waiting for the Crown Prosecution Service to announce this is, hopefully, just a formality.
Our condolences to Michaels family and friends.

A hate crime is just that.
A person killed simply because of their skin colour, the murderers get 25 years in prison and the incident is in the media spotlight.
A person killed simply because of their sexual orientation and the country hardly gets to know.
What does that say about our media?
I’ve started a post called Movie for today over on the forum
My apologies for being so uncaring to come here on this post just to advertise what else was going on in another part of the site. I don’t read the news if i can help it but I have read this story and i am so sorry for this boy and his family.
I am also disappointed about the lack of media coverage,in the national sense. If we are a nation together, not a nation ruled in separatism, by a media controlled, by corporate interest and profit to the point of one death in London by knife is a story and one death by kicking in Liverpool is null to publicity and paper sale. Then there is something seriously wrong with the economy of marketing.
That it defines death in londons hot story’s and liverpools deaths the difference in sales. One makes them money and the other does not. Regardless of the fact they are there to inform us of the truth,at any cost.Reporters are no longer investigators of truth but merchants of lies and deceit
3 murders within a mile radius in Huyton. Only one high profile case, as in national news.Anthony Walker, Tommy Harrison and Michael Causer all killed for nothing. This is because some scum thought they wanted to hit someone. Anthony was killed for the colour of his skin, Tommy was killed because he had defended himself early on that evening, Michael killed because he was supposedly gay.I have not heard any of the local councillors speaking out about Tommy’s or Michael killings. This I believe is because there is no national coverage on these killings, if the national press was involved knowsley councillors would be lining up to have thier say.O’conner,Alker and Douglas have got to be made any example of.Could you imagine if Ron Round had beeen killed for being a lying piece of s**t or O’Hare for being a racists. The national press and judges would be screaming for these scum to be locked up and the key threw away. The news papers must think it’s just another senseless killing, it will take a prominante MP or judge to be killed then just watch the prison sentences handed out.
As Anthony Walkers killers recieved 25 year sentences, should the same not be recieved by Michaels killers?
The crimes are the same, lets hope the sentences are.
Murder Accused are Bailed!
Now we know its not racism.
